GQ's 2011 "Man Of The Year" Jay-Z REVEALS The Scars Of Not Having A Father...And What HIS Fatherhood Will Be Like

Hip-Hop icon Jay-Z covers the latest issue of GQ magazine as one of their 2011 "Man Of The Year" honorees. Get the deets on his honor and find out what he said about growing up fatherless inside....

Former "Occupy All Streets" designer Jay-Z shares the distiction of being GQ's "Man Of The Year" for 2011.

This month, Jay stars on one of four special covers (Mila Kunis, Michael Fassbender, Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon are also featured), celebrating this year's honorees.

In the article, Jay opens up about what it's like working with a perfectionist like Kanye West.

“I think he just can’t help himself. He puts so much into everything, and he’s like, ‘You have to treat it like I treat it.’ It drives you crazy sometimes—like when you’ve put seventy-five versions of a snare on one song and he’s like, ‘No!’ and you’re like, ‘Come on, man.’ ”

When asked if he had any say in the MTV VMAs  plan to reveal he and his wife, Beyonce's baby news, he said: “It was actually Bey who wanted to [announce] it. You want to be in control of your life."  He also said he will "100%" be changing diapers.

And in one of the most revealing moments of the interview, Jay reveals the scar it left when his father walked out on their family.

“If your dad died before you were born, yeah, it hurts—but it’s not like you had a connection with something that was real. Not to say it’s any better—but to have that connection and then have it ripped away was, like, the worst. My dad was such a good dad that when he left, he left a huge scar. He was my superhero.”

“[I talked about] what it did to me, what it meant, asked him why. There was no real answer. There was nothing he could say, because there’s no excuse for that. There really isn’t. So there was nothing he could say to satisfy me, except to hear me out. And it was up to me to forgive and let it go.”

Sounds like Jay is really focusing on fatherhood now. Gotta love that grown swag...

Justin Bieber Tourmate Weighs In On Paternity Suit

'It wouldn't even be possible for her to get backstage,' Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta tells MTV News.

Justin Bieber recently told the "Today" show that it's impossible he fathered Mariah Yeater's baby, as claimed in a headline-making paternity suit. Why? The minute he finishes a show, he promptly makes his way from the stage to an awaiting car, so there's no time for backstage trysts.

Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta, Bieber's onetime tourmate, confirmed the teen star's story.

"It wouldn't even be possible for her to get backstage," he told MTV News on the red carpet at the Glamour Women of the Year event in New York on Monday. "The security is so crazy there, you can't get backstage. And even if you got backstage, first of all, he leaves the show as soon as he's offstage, which is pretty cool. He runs offstage, gets in a car and jets, because the whole city turns into chaos."

Before the My World Tour wrapped up last month, the band experienced that craziness firsthand, likening it to something straight out of the movies. "There's a really cool video of us online getting mobbed at the airport," Saporta recalled. "It's like zombie apocalypse; it's awesome."

Speaking of awesome, 2011 has been a pretty great year for Cobra Starship. Their infectious, Sabi-featuring track "You Make Me Feel" has been burning up radio, but that Bieber tour is pretty much the highlight of the year for Saporta.

"We were playing, like, 50,000-people stadiums," Saporta said of the South American jaunt. "It was insane, and I'm from South America too, so for me, it was especially satisfying. I gotta say, for being the most famous kid in the universe, he's remarkably well-adjusted, and ... there's like 75 people traveling with him. It feels like a family, and it was really nice to be a part of that family for a bit of time."

Lady Gaga Launches Born This Way Foundation

Lady Gaga has always made it her mission to empower her little monsters. On Wednesday (November 2), Mother Monster announced she's launching the Born This Way Foundation, which aims to further inspire young people. The pop superstar is even getting some help from her very own Mother Monster, Cynthia Germanotta.

"My mother and I have initiated a passion project. We call it the Born This Way Foundation," Gaga said in a statement about the foundation, which takes its name from her hit single and album. "Together we hope to establish a standard of Bravery and Kindness, as well as a community worldwide that protects and nurtures others in the face of bullying and abandonment."

The foundation will work with a number of partners, including the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the California Endowment and the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. According to the statement, the foundation will focus on "youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development and will utilize digital mobilization as one of the means to create positive change."

Gaga has been a leader in shedding a light on the issue of bullying. She met with President Obama at a fundraiser in September to talk about the bullying epidemic, after she was touched in particular by the suicide of bullied 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer.

"The past days I've spent reflecting, crying, and yelling," she tweeted when news of the teen's death broke in September. "I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone's life." She went on to post Rodemeyer's "It Gets Better" video, urging that bullying "must become illegal. It is a hate crime."

Lady Gaga isn't the only pop star using the public spotlight to give back. On Tuesday, Justin Bieber announced the creation of his Believe Charity Drive and noted that partial proceeds from the sale of his brand-new Under the Mistletoe album will be donated to charitable organizations.

Justin Bieber Paternity Case Could Spark Police Investigation

Los Angeles cops may look into possible statutory rape charges against 20-year-old Mariah Yeater.

The twisted tale of the Justin Bieber paternity claim took another turn on Thursday when the Los Angeles Police Department said it may investigate the woman making the claims for statutory rape.

Bieber has vehemently denied the allegations made by 20-year-old Mariah Yeater that the "Baby" singer is the father of her now 3-month-old child. Yeater has filed a paternity suit against Bieber, claiming that the boy was born after the two had unprotected sex backstage after one of the singer's shows in Los Angeles last year. Now, according to The Associated Press, Los Angeles Police Commander Andrew Smith said on Thursday that his department may investigate Yeater because if her story is true, she could be subject to statutory rape charges since Bieber was a 16-year-old minor at the time of the incident.

According to California law, someone who has unlawful sex with a person who is under 18 years of age and is not more than three years older than that person is guilty of a misdemeanor, which carries up to a one-year jail sentence.

Though he's made a number of press appearances this week to promote his new Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, Bieber had not publicly commented on the allegations until Friday (November 4) when he appeared on the "Today" show.

"I'd just like to say basically that none of those allegations are true," he told Matt Lauer. "I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim." Bieber explained on "Today" that the logistics of her claim don't fit with his hectic schedule. "I think it's crazy because every night after the show I've gone right from the stage right to my car," he said. "So it's crazy that some people want to make up some false allegations, but to set the record straight none of it is true. Never met the woman."

Earlier in the week, Bieber took to Twitter to say he was not getting caught up in the drama. "So I'm going to ignore the rumors ... and focus on what is real," he wrote, without mentioning the specific issue. "An opportunity to help by doing what I love. Judge me on the music! Love y'all!"

On Tuesday, Bieber's publicist commented on the lawsuit in a statement, saying, "While we haven't yet seen the lawsuit, it's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."

No crime has been reported as of yet in the alleged tryst, but Smith said, "If it's brought to our attention, of course we'll look into it." Yeater, who had just turned 19 at the time of the alleged incident, claims in the paternity suit that she had a brief sexual encounter with Bieber in a backstage bathroom at Los Angeles' Staples Center and that she believes the teen star is the father because there were no other men she had sex with at that time. A hearing is scheduled for December 15 in the paternity case, in which she is asking for child support and for Bieber to take a paternity test to determine if the baby is his.

"The issue of statutory rape, even if she's guilty, hypothetically, that has no bearing on the duties to provide child support," said Matthew Pare, one of Yeater's lawyers. "It's a totally separate issue." As of press time, Pare said he had not been contacted by authorities over the rape issue, or by Bieber's camp.

Bieber, now 17, has been dating 19-year-old actress/singer Selena Gomez since late 2010, a couple of months after the alleged incident with Yeater took place.
