By the time Michael Jackson was delivered by ambulance to the UCLA Medical Center's emergency room, he was already dead. That was the testimony the jury heard Monday (October 3) as the second week of the manslaughter trial of the late pop icon's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, got under way.

"Mr. Jackson died long before he became a patient," said emergency room doctor Richelle Cooper in testimony continued from Friday.

Other highlights of Monday's testimony:

» Cooper said she actually pronounced Jackson dead twice, once on the phone at 12:57 p.m. on June 25, 2009, when paramedics couldn't revive the "Thriller" singer at his rented home and again at the hospital at 2:26 p.m. after Murray insisted Jackson be transported to UCLA for further treatment.

» When defense attorney J. Michael Flanagan pressed her on whether Murray's failure to disclose that he'd given Jackson the powerful anesthetic propofol had an effect on the care she gave, Cooper said yes. Flanagan then suggested Murray had left that fact out because he believed the propofol had worn off earlier in the day and did not cause Jackson's cardiac arrest.

» Cooper said the amount of propofol Murray told police he'd given Jackson — 25 milligrams — was half of what she would use to sedate patients, saying it would not likely be enough to knock the singer out.

» CNN reported that the defense appears to be trying to establish a timeline that depicts Jackson dead earlier in the day to bolster their claim that he dosed himself with propofol.

» Phone records indicate that Murray was texting and talking on two of his cell phones in the hours and minutes leading up to Jackson's cardiac arrest, during which he was supposed to be tending to the pop star. In the hour before he discovered Jackson in bed unresponsive, records had Murray making calls totaling 46 minutes, one of which came from Bridgette Morgan, who testified Monday that she called Murray a half-hour before Jackson went into cardiac arrest.

» Another ER doctor who worked on Jackson at UCLA, cardiologist Thao Nguyen, said Murray never mentioned propofol to her either as she was working to revive the singer. She added that when she pressed Murray for what time he last gave Jackson sedatives he claimed he didn't know and did not have a watch.

» Houston doctor Joanne Bednarz-Prashad later took the stand to testify that when she spoke with Murray about a patient they shared on the morning of Jackson's death, she was "impressed" that he had no trouble relaying details about that patient's medical history.

Murray has pleaded not guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter. He faces four years in prison and the loss of his medical license.

Need more Britney Spears amped-up club tracks in your life? Well, the Femme Fatale singer has your back. Britney tweeted her plan to release a remix album next month.

B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2 will drop on October 11, and the singer had this to say about the release: "Exciting news people ... new remix album is coming out on 10/11! Pumped for you to hear these tracks - I love them."

The album will feature reworked versions of 10 of her songs, both from Femme Fatale and her previous work. The songs are: "Gimme More" (Kaskade Club Mix), "Piece of Me" (Tiësto Club Mix), "Radar" (Tonal Club Remix), "Womanizer" (Benny Benassi Extended), "Circus" (Linus Loves Remix), "If U Seek Amy" (U-Tern Remix), "3" (Manhattan Clique Club Remix), "Till the World Ends" (Alex Suarez Club Remix), "I Wanna Go" (Gareth Emery Remix) and "Criminal" (Varsity Team Remix).

Spears dropped the first part of the B in the Mix series back in November 2005. On that record, folks like Justice, Bill Hamel, Junkie XL and Jason Nevins, to name a few, put their spin on major releases and under-the-radar tracks including "Me Against the Music," "Touch of My Hand," "And Then We Kiss" and "Early Mornin'."

The news comes as Britney preps the release of her next single, the Femme Fatale slow jam "Criminal," which made the track listing for B in the Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2. Spears also recently tweeted that she's shooting the video for "Criminal" in England.

The upcoming 2011 MTV EMA already booked some serious Yankee firepower by nabbing the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a performance on the November 6 broadcast. But on Wednesday, the European award show added some home-team stars as well with the announcement that Coldplay and Jessie J would also be taking the stage at the 18th annual awards blowout.

The Dublin-based broadcast will also up the ante with a visit from ultimate party rock starters LMFAO, who were added to the roster of performers as well. "I can't quite believe I'm nominated for three awards. It's like a dream, I keep pinching myself. And being nominated for Best U.K./Ireland Act alongside artists like Adele, Coldplay, Kasabian and Florence is an honor," Jessie J said of her heavy presence at the show. Along with LMFAO, she'll be making her EMA debut on the broadcast, which will premier on Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas at 6 p.m. ET on November 6 and 12 p.m. ET on mtvU on November 7.

Selena Gomez is hosting the program and Lady Gaga tops the nominees list with six EMA nods. Katy Perry and Bruno Mars are just behind with four noms each; Adele, Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds to Mars are each up for three.

Gaga is up for Best Female, Best Live Act, Best Pop Act, Best Song and Best Video for "Born This Way." She scored the sixth nom in the Biggest Fans category, an honor she'll share with her Little Monsters if she wins.

American and Canadian audiences can vote for the North American nominee for the Worldwide Act award, who will represent the continent at the EMA against contenders from across the globe.

Adele's unstoppable "Rolling in the Deep," Bruno Mars' "Grenade," Jennifer Lopez's "On the Floor" (featuring Pitbull) and Katy Perry's "Firework" will go up against Gaga for Best Song.

For Best Pop, Britney Spears, Bieber, Perry, Rihanna and Gaga are set to face off, while Adele, Beyoncé, J.Lo and Katy also made the final cut for Best Female.

Battling it out in the Best Male category are Bruno Mars, David Guetta, Bieber, Kanye West and Eminem, who's also up for Best Hip-Hop alongside Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Kanye West (a.k.a. the Throne), Pitbull, and Snoop Dogg.

Coldplay, the Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon and Red Hot Chili Peppers are up for Best Rock. And the night's big prize, Best Video, features the most eclectic mix of nominees: Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," the Beastie Boys' "Make Some Noise," Beyoncé's "Run the World (Girls)," Justice's "Civilization" and Gaga's "Born This Way."

Hugh Jackman KOs George Clooney At Box Office

'Real Steel' was victor at the weekend box office, with 'Ides of March' at #2.

"Real Steel" was the clear victor at the box office this weekend. The action-packed robot-boxing movie took in $27.3 million, according to studio estimates, which easily bested the rest of the flicks in theaters, both new and old.

Of course, the contest wasn't exactly along the lines of George Foreman vs. Muhammad Ali. Industry watchers long suspected the mass audience appeal of "Real Steel" to beat the suspenseful nature of George Clooney's "The Ides of March."

"Real Steel" features Hugh Jackman opposite Dakota Goyo, a generally relatable 11-year-old. It features effects-heavy action, a family story and big thrills aimed at a broad audience. It was also executive-produced by Steven Spielberg. DreamWorks will undoubtedly continue to campaign hard for "Real Steel," considering its estimated $110 million budget.

The weekend's #2 movie, "The Ides of March," is a dramatic tale of political intrigue aimed for a more discerning, grown-up audience. "Ides" was directed and co-written by George Clooney, who also stars. It debuted with $10.4 million. Clooney's face is split on the poster with co-star Ryan Gosling, whose "Drive" opened with $11.3 million in August by comparison.

Last weekend's #1 movie, "Dolphin Tale," slid gracefully to #3 with $9.2 million for a $49.1 million total — a decline of just 34 percent. Brad Pitt's "Moneyball" took in $7.5 million to land at #4 with a $49.3 million total.

The Joseph Gordon-Levitt/ Seth Rogen dramedy "50/50" was #5, with $5.5 million in its second weekend of release. The low-budget picture has made $17.3 million playing in roughly two-thirds the number of theaters as "Real Steel."

"The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence" took $54,000 in just 18 theaters in its debut.

Next weekend's new releases include a pair of blasts from the past: the remake of "Footloose" and the remake-turned-prequel "The Thing." They'll open alongside a handful of smaller pictures with big stars including "Fireflies in the Garden" (Julia Roberts, Ryan Reynolds), "Trespass" (Nicolas Cage, Nicole Kidman), "Father of Invention" (Kevin Spacey) and "Texas Killing Fields" (Sam Worthington). "The Big Year," which stars Owen Wilson, Jack Black and Steve Martin, debuts as well.

Check out everything we've got on "Real Steel" and "The Ides of March."
