Ke$ha Is Channeling 'Sexiness' Of '70s Rock For New Album

Glitter-heavy pop star tells MTV News she's going for 'balls-out, irreverent rock and roll.'

Ke$ha's already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she's even taken to guzzling blood out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most theatrical era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s.

Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KIIS FM's annual Wango Tango concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout Animal album (and, we suppose, Cannibal too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much everything else.

"The next album ... I've been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll," she said. "I've been pretty much in this '70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that's just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f---, so we'll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it."

So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc.

"I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. "I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that's my dream. I'm working on it."

What do you think of Ke$ha going rock for her next album? Tell us in the comments!

Demi Lovato & Ryan Phillippe Dating?

Demi Lovato & Ryan Phillippe Dating?

Demi Lovato may be a resilient "skyscraper," as she says in her new single -- but she's still just a teenager. So isn't she a little young to be dating 36-year-old Ryan Phillippe? (Or rather: Isn't Phillippe a little old to be dating her?) We'd have thought so, but according to E! News, the 18-year-old Disney starlet and Lincoln Lawyer actor have been quietly seeing one another.

The source claims that Lovato and Phillippe started out as a casual fling, but that things quickly got "really hot and heavy for a while." Then Phillippe had to go and put a damper on things by having a baby with 21-year-old ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp. Though Phillippe has yet to take a paternity test to confirm that he's the child's father, he was by Knapp's side in the hospital room when she gave birth to a baby girl named Kai in early July.

"It kind of threw her for a loop," says the source, adding that Lovato didn't know that Phillippe was going to be a father "until it basically happened." (So "threw her for a loop" would be an understatement, right?)

Since the birth of two-week-old Kai -- which coincided with Lovato's promotional campaign for "Skyscraper" -- the couple has reportedly cooled it. While E! seems to be holding out hope for the pair, a source at Us Weekly implies that the relationship may be dunzo, since "they were just hooking up" and "it was nothing serious."

In addition to the age difference, the timing of the relationship is certainly enough to raise eyebrows. Not only did Lovato get out of rehab mere months ago, but she was also reportedly dating Wilder Valderamma up until June -- which is also when Phillippe is said to have split with on-off girlfriend Amanda Seyfried. But in the past few weeks, Phillippe has been supporting Knapp through the final stage of her pregnancy, even acting as her labor partner for the actual birth. So when did Phillippe and Lovato find the time to start dating?

Honestly, they may not have. A source tells People not to believe the hype. "This is not true," the insider says of the hookup rumors. "He's totally single."

Either way, if Phillippe and Lovato do become an item, it wouldn't be the first time a sweet teen starlet hooked up with a questionably older man. Taylor Swift and John Mayer, we're looking at you!

?Jersey Shore? Season 4 Trailer Released (Video)

The premiere of the highly anticipated season four of ‘Jersey Shore’ may be weeks away but fans can now get a glimpse at what to expect thanks to the newly released trailer. Snooki, Pauly D, The Situation, and the rest of the ‘Jersey Shore’ crew take on Italy in what looks to be like any other season of the popular reality TV show, just a different location. There are hookups, fights, drinking, and of course Snooki getting arrested for fans to look forward to. If the trailer is any indication it should make for an interesting season even though it appears to full of the same old antics we have seen in the past three seasons of the show. I will say this I can?t wait to see the entire episode of Snooki hitting the police car, I about died laughing just watching the clip of it and I am not even that big of a fan of the show. In fact I personally think it has run its course. I mean lets be real the drama may be new but the gang and their debauchery is same old same old. Although I guess if it ain?t broke don?t fix [...]

'Harry Potter' Zaps Opening-Weekend Box-Office Record

'Deathly Hallows, Part 2' surpasses 'The Dark Knight' and 'Spider-Man 3' with biggest opening weekend.

With the swift decisiveness of a magic wand, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" vanquished several box-office records over the weekend. The final and best-reviewed entry in the Potter franchise now holds the record for biggest first day and biggest opening weekend (both domestically and across the world) and helped push the franchise past the $2 billion mark.

The eighth "Harry Potter" movie took in $92.1 million in North America on Friday and went on to earn a weekend total of $168.5 million, according to studio estimates. The new "Potter" film's box-office gross topped those of previous record holders like "The Dark Knight" and "Spider-Man 3," although it trailed them in attendance. "Deathly Hallows Part 2" ranked sixth overall when it comes to number of tickets sold.

Over 3100 locations offered the film in 3-D (the largest 3-D rollout ever) but only 43 percent of audiences chose to see the film that way, offering another example of moviegoers' 3-D fatigue.

Disney's reboot of sorts of "Winnie the Pooh" didn't stand a chance against the boy wizard and his pals, with the latest animated take on the classic character drumming up just $8 million in its debut.

"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" was a distant #2 at the box office during its third week of release, taking in $21.2 million for a $302.8 million total. Dark workplace comedy "Horrible Bosses" was #3 on the scorecard with $17.6 million for a $60 million total.

Kevin James' "Zookeeper" took in $12.3 million for a $42.3 million total, which is far behind where the comedian's "Paul Blart: Mallcop" was during a similar point in its theatrical release. "Cars 2" rounded out the top five with $8.3 million. The computer-animated flick's $165.3 million total and overall attendance record marks a 12-year low for the much celebrated Pixar Studios.

Writer/director Woody Allen has plenty to be happy about, however, as "Midnight in Paris" became his highest-grossing film over the weekend. The fantastical, well-reviewed movie has earned $41.8 million and ranks seventh among Allen's films in terms of number of tickets sold.

This weekend will mark the arrival of two heavily promoted summer movies: highly anticipated "Captain America: The First Avenger," which stars Chris Evans in the title role, and the Justin Timberlake/ Mila Kunis romantic comedy "Friends With Benefits."

Check out everything we've got on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2."
