'They're gonna see a whole different Taylor Lautner from what Jacob is in the 'Twilight' pictures,' John Singleton promises.

Taylor Lautner will surprise people in his forthcoming film "Abduction," according to John Singleton. The renowned director says that Lautner has abandoned his onscreen "Twilight" werewolf alter ego to play a butt-kicking teen in the film, due out in September.

"I put him through his paces and I can say this to the MTV audience: They're gonna see a whole different Taylor Lautner from what Jacob is in the 'Twilight' pictures," Singleton told MTV News. "My goal as a director was to work with him as an actor, for him to have something that's a different character."

So, what did Singleton draw out of his actor? Singleton said he wanted Lautner's character to be "strong and charismatic. I've done some stuff that I'm sure all the young ladies will really love ... and it's beyond taking his shirt off. It's about him having a different kind of swag than he does as Jacob. In this movie, he's Nathan Harper and he's a kickass dude in this movie."

The director explained that while Lautner plays tough in the flick, he was quite the softie on set, taking the time out to thank his fans for stopping by to watch him in action. "Taylor's the most famous actor I've ever worked with in my whole career," Singleton said. "When we were shooting this movie, we had 500 to 600 girls and their mothers off the set, trying to get on the set, trying to be around, which was cool."

Singleton said that the star handled all the attention like the seasoned pro that he is. "It was really funny because, you know, after we worked all these hours, he'd go out and he'd graciously shake peoples' hands and sign autographs," he said. "He's phenomenal. I call him a trooper; he's a real soldier."

Rihanna Named New Face of Emporio Armani

Rihanna Named New Face of Emporio Armani

Rihanna's gorgeous face has been touting beauty products for CoverGirl since 2007, and she recently scored a gig with skincare company Nivea. But now, the Barbados beauty is using her hot body to make some cash.

The 23-year-old Grammy winner has been chosen to be the new celebrity star of the Emporio Armani Underwear and Jeans clothing line. Replacing Megan Fox, Rihanna's autumn/winter campaign will launch in September. According to the company, the print ads have already been shot in New York.

Besides Fox, Rihanna will be following in the footsteps of Armani's former celebrity reps, David and Victoria Beckham, hunky soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and tennis pro Rafael Nadal. And, with a body like hers, we're sure Rihanna's ads will be just as steamy as the former models'.

Last week, RiRi took to her Twitter account to tease the exciting news.

"U would NEVER guess what I’m doing right now!!!" she posted on July 6. "Hint Hint #Armani."

Tom Felton Predicts Snape Will Win 'Harry Potter' World Cup

'Everyone loves Snape. He has the greatest story of the lot,' actor tells MTV News.

No matter how you feel about the mean-spirited Draco Malfoy, actor Tom Felton is well aware that the character he's played for 10 years garners mixed reactions from die-hard "Harry Potter" fans. "Either people loved him or loved to hate him," Felton told MTV News during a sit-down chat in preparation for the release of the wildly anticipated "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2."

Even Felton himself has conflicting feelings about how people react to Malfoy. "It's weird — I never quite know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that Draco is generally ... a pleasantly accepted character," the star said, adding, "I always find it weird when 6-year-olds' parents say, 'You're his favorite character!' I'm always like, 'I'm not sure if I should be. I'm not sure that reflects your great parenting skills!"

But that doesn't mean the MTV Movie Awards winner didn't want his character to win the ongoing "Harry Potter" World Cup. For weeks, "Harry Potter" fans have participated in the bracket game, which will declare the best character in the saga. While Felton's Draco did make it very far in the tournament before being bested by Final Four competitor Sirius Black ("That's a little unfair, I think — don't you?" the 23-year-old pondered to MTV's Josh Horowitz), it wasn't quite far enough to take the whole thing. "I'm bitter about not making it to the final post, but at the same time, I'm very grateful. It's awesome," the actor said.

See the full bracket and vote!

Still, Felton, despite being voted out, was more than willing to play along in the World Cup. When asked whom he thinks should advance past the Final Four (Hermione Granger vs. Severus Snape, Sirius Black vs. Ron Weasley) and win the whole thing, the actor said, with no hesitation, "Snape." He continued, "Everyone loves Snape. He has the greatest story of the lot, I think, where you don't know which he's going to be the whole way."

While the "Harry Potter" World Cup picks the best character in the series, not just the final film, Felton still thinks Snape takes the cake. "He has a beautiful ending, doesn't he?," Felton asked, adding, "I didn't expect that at all. It's so nice to see this hard character Snape turn into this soft shell of a man."

In short, by Felton's prediction, Severus Snape is "gonna take the crown, man."

Whether you agree or disagree with Felton's pick, you can still vote throughout the day on Monday, July 11. Then, the winner of the "Harry Potter" World Cup will be announced later that evening during MTV's live stream of the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" red-carpet premiere in New York.

We're streaming live from the red carpet at the New York premiere of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" on Monday, July 11, at 4:30 p.m. ET. Adam Lambert's 'Whole Lotta Love': The Story Behind The Cover

Glam rocker tackled the legendary 1970 Led Zeppelin song for 'American Idol' rock night.

Imagine a freight train speeding toward you at midnight. Or a rockslide barreling down a hill as you try to outrace it. That's the feeling of the ominous, chugging Jimmy Page riff that kicks off Led Zeppelin's 1970 Stonehenge of rock, "Whole Lotta Love." And that's before singer Robert Plant leans into one of the nastiest, ecstatic rock screams this side of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again."

That's the song Adam Lambert chose to sing on "American Idol" rock night Tuesday (May 5), and, needless to say, it was a challenge that the eyeliner-loving Los Angeles stage veteran was more than up for, hitting a series of high notes and rock screams that would have made Plant proud. It was a risky maneuver that paid off for Lambert, who chose a tune that came in at #75 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2004.

The legendary British rock act recorded the tribute to Chicago blues icon Willie Dixon during their second U.S. tour after working it out in their live show, including it on their 1969 classic album Led Zeppelin II. Like many of the songs Zeppelin performed early in their career, "Love" was a blues standard turned on its head with a heavy dose of crunching psychedelic guitar and thundering drums, courtesy of late drummer John Bonham. The song was based on a 1962 tune by another blues forefather, Muddy Waters, called "You Need Love," which was penned by Dixon.

For Zeppelin's version, Plant customized the lyrics by adding some lyrical quotes from a few other songs Dixon wrote for Howlin' Wolf, "Back Door Man" and "Shake For Me," nailing the tricky vocal in a single take. It was also inspired by 1966's "You Need Loving" from the British rock group the Small Faces, for whom Zeppelin had great affection, but they also did not credit Dixon for his part in writing the original lyrics. The song became Zeppelin's first U.S. single and their only U.S. top 10 hit. Though their manager would not let them release singles in the U.K. because he thought it cannibalized album sales, the song was finally released as the band's only British single in 1997.

Dixon sued Zeppelin over the song in 1985, claiming it borrowed too heavily from his "You Need Love," and Zeppelin reached an agreement with him, with Dixon using the money he received to set up a program that provided musical instruments for schools. A cornerstone of heavy rock, the tune -- which was the theme song for the long-running British countdown show "Top of the Pops" in the 1970s and '80s -- has been covered by dozens of artists over the years, from Tina Turner and Ben Harper to Prince, Slash, Leona Lewis, Train's Pat Monahan, the London Symphony Orchestra and Jane's Addiction.
