INDIO, California — Eschewing the big light shows of the weekend's earlier main-stage acts, Arcade Fire stripped down for Saturday night's Coachella crowd to let their sunny sing-alongs shine through.

They bookended their set with cuts from their Grammy-winning The Suburbs, starting with "Month of May" and closing out with "Sprawl II."

Through it all, the crowd kept bopping, belting out "Rebellion (Lies)," and both "Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)" and "Neighborhood 3 (Power Out)."

The recent surprise Album of the Year winners expressed their gratitude several times, admitting, "It's pretty intimidating to be up here in front of all you people," and later professing, "We don't take this for granted, even for a second."

This year, its 12th, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is presenting more than 100 bands over three days on the Empire Polo Club fields.

Anyone who let Animal Collective's reputation as a less-than-stellar live act convince them to stay away missed a wonderfully frantic set backed by stunning videography. The Baltimore experimentalists amply surpassed their duties and proved that, yes, they could bring it to the main stage. Their audience was thin, as positive word of mouth sent the masses to watch Empire of the Sun on the Outdoor stage. But the Empire experience is all about their theatrical stage show, which only the closest quarter or so of the crowd got to see.

Erykah Badu's late-afternoon set had her soul sisters and fan boys enthralled. After beginning with "20 Feet Tall," she told them "Didn't Cha Know" is her favorite song to sing and "If it starts feeling too good, don't hesitate to scream."

Those missing this year's lack of hard-rock acts had the chance to bang their heads to Rage Against the Machine spitter Zach De La Rocha and former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore's surprisingly standard One Day as a Lion.

Elsewhere, Swell Season soothed tired eardrums, and mad scientist Daedelus captivated. The Scissor Sisters gave a shout-out to earlier Mojave tent act Elbow, saying, "They don't get the recognition they deserve, here in this country — just like the Scissor Sisters!"

While Steve Angello brought house music to the masses in the Sahara tent, Andy C. and GQ reminded an intimate group of drum and bass fans in the Oasis dome of the late-'90s height of their rave days. Earlier, Laidback Luke had the Sahara pounding with an eclectic sunset performance that masterfully blended dance staples like "Better Off Alone" and new classic "When Love Takes Over" with Coldplay's "Clocks" — somehow managing to make detours into dubstep and Cypress Hill's "Insane in the Brain" blend seamlessly.

Coachella kicked off Friday with Kings of Leon, Interpol and the Chemical Brothers.

On tap for Sunday (April 17): Wiz Khalifa, the Strokes, Duck Sauce and Kanye West.

Rachel Zoe Shows Off Her Post-Baby Body in LA!

Rachel Zoe stepped out in Beverly Hills to do some shopping yesterday. She gave birth to her first child a little over three weeks ago, and shared a picture of baby Skyler Morrison just a few days later. Rachel and her husband Rodger took Skyler out for a sunny walk around their neighborhood last week, but it looks like she left the little guy home for her most recent outing. She did, however, bring her niece, Sophie, along for a trip to the Gap and a stop by the farmer's market.

What do Britney Spears and Usher have in common? Well, they are both global superstars with a back catalogue of tunes that have kept fans dancing for a really long time and they both recently hooked up with will.i.am for tracks on their latest releases (the Black Eyed Peas mastermind worked on the pop vixen's Femme Fatale tune "Big Fat Bass"). And, if Spears has her way, she and the "OMG" singer could be hitting the road together.

When Spears sat down to talk with Sway Calloway for her "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale" special — airing Sunday (April 3) at 9 p.m. ET on MTV — the singer revealed that Usher is first on her list of artists she'd like to join her on tour.

"Oh, I'm so excited. I'm really excited about going on tour, very," she explained about her forthcoming summer trek, which happens to have a spot open on the bill now that Enrique Iglesias has pulled out of the gig. "I think Usher's really great right now. I think he's really hot right now. That would be cool [to tour with him]."

The North American road trip is expected to kick off June 17 in Sacramento, California, and will run for 26 dates, winding up on August 13 in Toronto. More details will be announced soon.

The "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale" special is a mixture of behind-the-scenes footage of the singer as she wraps up production on her album, which dropped this week, as well as an inside look at her life and fans. In addition, those who couldn't make Spears' recent nightclub show in Las Vegas will get to see her as she takes the stage in her latest pop incarnation.

Don't miss "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale," airing Sunday (April 3) at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.

Rihanna Checks Out Coachella 2011

Sneaking in a quick getaway to check out her fellow performers, Rihanna was in the audience during Day 2 of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on Saturday night (April 16).

The "S&M" singer looked foxy in a camo jacket, jean shorts, black top and fedora cap as she took to the Empire Polo Club venue in Indio, California.

During her Coachella visit, RiRi leisurely sipped on a drink while listening to the sounds of Grammy winning band Arcade Fire.

The weekend excursion comes amidst reports telling that Rihanna has a lot bigger family back in Barbados than first thought.

The 23-year-old is said to have numerous half-siblings from her father Ronald Fenty's past relationships including two half sisters, Samantha and Kandy, as well as a half brother named Jamie.

Speaking of her relationship with Rihanna, Kandy told press, "I saw her a few times again after that initial meeting but it wasn't long after that she moved to the States to pursue her singing career and I didn't really hear much from her again. But I'm very proud of what she's achieved."

Coldplay, Led Zeppelin Album Covers Featured On New British Stamps

Album art from Pink Floyd, Blur and David Bowie also included.

On Thursday (January 7), the U.K.'s Royal Mail unveiled a series of 10 new stamps, honoring the most iconic album covers of the past 40 years.

The albums featured in the new series are the Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed, Led Zeppelin's IV, David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, The Clash's London Calling, New Order's Power, Corruption and Lies, Primal Scream's Screamadelica, Pink Floyd's The Division Bell, Blur's Parklife and — the most recent album on to make the cut — Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head.

Meant to honor "the most potent graphic images of modern times, many of which have provided a visual soundtrack to people's lives," the series is the end result of a lengthy research process by the Royal Mail, who looked through thousands of album covers by British artists before deciding on the final list. And, during a Wednesday night BBC Radio broadcast, it was revealed that the queen herself actually approved each design.

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page — who helped design the cover for IV — was on hand to celebrate the release of the stamps and recalled the mysterious nature of the album's iconic imagery.

"Almost 40 years after the album came out, nobody knows the old man who featured on the cover, nor the artist who painted him," he said. "That sort of sums up what we wanted to achieve with the album cover, which has remained both anonymous and enigmatic at the same time."

Of course, any great honor is befitting of an equally great contest, so, on the same day the stamps were made available to the general public, Coldplay decided to give one of their Rush of Blood stamps away. In a message on their official site, the band held a contest to send one lucky fan "a letter using a Coldplay stamp, postmarked with today's issue date."

"We visited our local post office earlier today and bought some of the Coldplay stamps," the message read. "Very nice they are too."

Martin Solveig's 'Ready 2 Go' Video Premieres

DJ/producer drops second clip from his album Smash, set to drop this summer.
By Adam Stewart

Martin Solveig

Martin Solveig may very well be one of the greatest athletes in dance music. And if you were one of the more than 22 million people who viewed his music video for "Hello" on YouTube — you know, the one where Solveig comes all the way back from a 6-love, 6-love deficit against fellow Frenchman Bob Sinclar, only to throw the tennis match due to a broken heart — then you know exactly why. And now Solveig has released his latest homage to sports with his video for "Ready 2 Go," which premiered Friday (April 15).

"We are shooting the video and episode for this at Stade de France," Solveig told MTV News at Miami's Ultra Music Festival last month. The track features the vocals of Bloc Party's Kele Okereke, which keeps the overall feel "a bit more on the rock side. It's quite exciting."

Exciting is a bit of an understatement. Fueled by the massive success of "Hello," which was filmed live in front of 15,000 fans at the Roland Garros Tennis Stadium, "Ready 2 Go" again ventures toward high drama, with a humorous and ambitious plot that in the real world would likely land Solveig and his cohorts in prison.

Cleverly garnished with vérité artifacts from the "Hello" video such as Solveig's racquet and the umpire chair, which is used as a ladder to break into the stadium in the middle of the night, the video puts the Frenchman midfield in front of a packed crowd at Europe's fifth-largest stadium. There are cheerleaders, those big inflatable dancing humanoid things you see at car dealerships, and an impressive interaction with the stadium's 50,000-plus fans. And as a testament to how organic the video shoot actually was, the entire scene was filmed in just one take. But even Solveig admits that his expectations are in check, and on the heels of his fifth studio album, Smash, the always humble Frenchman knows better than to rest on his laurels.

"To be honest, you can never really know what's going to happen with a track. The success of 'Hello' has gone a little bit over my craziest expectations, so I'm just so happy and really blessed by that," Solveig said. "Ready 2 Go" marks the second cut from the album, due out this summer, which Solveig tells MTV News will be complemented by a number of up-and-coming vocalists.

"I'm super-excited — I've worked a lot with Dragonette (who also makes a cameo in the 'Ready 2 Go' video). I connect very easily [with her]. We've got four tracks on the album, Kele has the new one, and [then there's] a new talent called Sunday Girl who will be featured on the album's third single, 'Turn Up the Radio.' " The 23-year-old British model and musician will also be joining Solveig on four dates of Australia's Creamfields tour, before his own Smash tour heads back to Europe for the summer months.

"It's mainly almost exclusively a European tour for the summer because we're doing a lot. I'll be traveling with Lafaille, who [plays my] manager in the web series [and videos], and he'll be DJing as well. There's a couple of productions — nothing too fancy, just in my field of entertainment — so we're going to have a pretty epic tour. So I'm excited!"
