Even Sean “Diddy” Combs is bowing to the wild demands of yet-to-be signed, punk-rock- hip-hop supergroup Odd Future. Music honchos including Roc Nation’s Jay- Z, SRC’s Steve Rifkind and Interscope’s Jimmy Iovine have been fighting to sign the band described as an “urban Sex Pistols.” The anti-establishment band has been having some fun by asking [...]
MAN! There is something to be said for those Brazilian men. The ladies of Hollywood just cannot resist them First Madonna, now Amy Winehouse? Amy has been vacationing/performing down in Rio de Janeiro and while in South America, she found … Continue reading →
I'm surprised the world just didn't implode last night. Two lethal forces united and somehow we all survived. Amy Winehouse... and.... Tila Tequila partied together at Kyashii restaurant and bar in Covent Garden in London. Amy left (with a little assistance) around 1:15 to hit up 'Runway Club' but returned within the hour and ended up partying until 4AM.I can't IMAGINE the pictures that were snapped of these two inside the club. Whether you love or hate Rebecca Black's viral hit "Friday," we think you'll agree that Stephen Colbert's version makes it all worthwhile. One week ago, Jimmy Fallon announced that the Comedy Central star would perform "Friday" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon... if viewers raised $26,000 in five days for the school-supplies charity Donors Choose. Fallon's fans rose to the challenge, and on Friday night, Colbert sang a soulful rendition of "Friday" with Fallon's house band The Roots, plus some very special guests. Watch the video below:
The most amazing thing about Colbert's performance isn't that it's funny (because, well, we expected that). It's that the song sounds so good. Colbert's country-ballad intro makes the lyric "time is a-going, tickin' on and on" sounds almost profound -- even though it follows that line about eating cereal. The Roots elevate the song with their trademark hip-hop funk sound, while their emcee, Black Thought, makes that embarrassing rap interlude sound suddenly respectable. Former American Idol winner Taylor Hicks and famous cheerleading troupe the Knicks City Dancers add some flash, and Fallon himself does his best fake auto-tune while reviewing the days of the week. In short, it was a great performance for a good cause -- and it has us eagerly checking iTunes to see if they'll release it as a single. We'd say this was the best thing to happen to Rebecca Black this weekend, but on Saturday, the amateur pop star got another ego boost: an apology fromMiley Cyrus. Cyrus, 18, complained to the press last week that Black's overnight success had come too easy. But on Saturday before the Kids' Choice Awards, Cyrus told E! that she had been misquoted. "I love Rebecca Black... I think she's great," gushed Cyrus, who admits to doing a "Friday" cover of her own. "I actually have this really embarrassing video that my sister has on her phone," she told the website, "and I'm just waiting till the day that she puts it on YouTube. It's me driving, singing Rebecca Black and my hands are not always on the wheel while I'm singing the song. Not so good." Not so good, eh? Maybe Miley should let her YouTube fans be the judge!

After months of debate, speculation and rumors, Lionsgate has officially announced casting for the two male leads in the highly-anticipated film, "The Hunger Games." Josh Hutcherson ("The Kids Are All Right") will play romantic, reluctant hero Peeta Mellark, and Liam Hemsworth ("The Last Song") will play brooding boy-next-door Gale Hawthorne.
Hutcherson and Hemsworth will star alongside Jennifer Lawrence, who was recently announced as having landed the coveted role of Katniss Everdeen.
Hutcherson has been acting for over a decade in films like "Bridge to Terabithia" and "Journey to the Center of the Earth," but he is perhaps most recognizable for his role in last year's critical darling and Oscar-nominated film, "The Kids Are All Right."
Australian Hemsworth, although slightly newer to Hollywood, has been garnering attention from his roles in TV and film, particularly Australian soap "Neighbours" and last year's tear-jerker romance, "The Last Song." (That and the fact that he dated Miley Cyrus.)
"The Hunger Games" is based on Suzanne Collins' dystopian best-seller about children forced to compete in an annual, televised fight-to-the-death battle. It is an intense and violent story of survival, corrupt governments and a struggling population, with a heartbreaking love triangle thrown in for good measure. The fanbase for "The Hunger Games" is a fiercely loyal one whose ferocity and dedication to Collins' source material have drawn comparisons to the "Twilight" fans, although "Hunger Games" readers tend to skew slightly older.
The film is slated to hit theaters March 23, 2012.
