BYE BYE, JA RULE: Ja Begins 2-Year Prison Sentence TODAY

After he pleaded guilty in December 2010 to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, Ja Rule (real name Jeffrey Atkins) is expected to turn himself in today to an upstate New York prison.
What Ja says he plans to do behind bars when you read on...
He's been in the studio belting out tracks and shooting videos in preparation of his lock down. Now Ja Rule is turning himself in today.
"Laws are laws," Ja Rule told 'Good Day New York.' "There's nothing I could really do but own up to the situation. You know, I try not to regret anything I do in life, because you go through life and you do things, and you man up to them. You own them."
Back in 2007, on the same night Lil Wayne was arrested for gun possession after their concert they performed together, Ja Rule was stopped in his Maybach and cops found a .40 caliber semi-automatic gun in the vehicle. His lawyers are hoping additional tax evasion charges on his $3 million income--which will give him 3 additional years in prison--can be combined with his current sentence to be served out simultaneously.
Ja was sentenced to 2 years for the weapons possession charge. But he's hoping to get out in 6 months on good behavior. He just tweeted his last few words today:

And he leaves behind his wife and 3 kids in New Jersey. And how does he plan to put his time behind bars to good use? He wants to get his GED, learn to play the guitar, and wants to write a book.
Keep ya head up Ja.
